Chumby is an electronic device that uses a wi-fi connection to monitor internet content like news, weather, your flickr photos, or any other RSS feed. Chumby also displays instant messages and plays mp3s. Using widgets, the user can choose what information they would like thier Chumby to display. Instead of a keyboard and mouse, the device uses a tactile interface. Chumby reacts to squeezing, tapping and other similar types of input. The device won’t replace your MacBook, but is meant to be used where other computers would be impractical. For instance, on the nightstand, in the kitchen, or anywhere else you would want to access fun stuff from the internet. According to the product website, the Chumby will soon be available for $150 or less.
