A recent study has shown that personality types are closely linked to musical preferences.
Fans of classical music and jazz are creative, pop lovers are hardworking and, despite the stereotypes, heavy metal listeners are gentle, creative types who are at ease with themselves.

We had coffee at Octane this afternoon and were very impressed with Michael Thrush’s “Post-modern appropriation art,” on display through September 30. There is an opening/reception Friday September 12th.

OpenStomp
OpenStomp has released an open source guitar effects pedal, the Coyote-1. The device allows users to create patches which can be saved and shared with others via software (Windows) interface. IDK if the software is open, but there are currently no Linux or Mac versions planned.
