The cherry blossoms in High Park bloomed early this year, luckily I was paying attention or we might have missed them. Michelle and I spent the afternoon doing hanami and people watching (cameraspotting .) More photos here.

Darrin was in NY checking out the University of Buffalo and I went to show him around a little. It was cold with snow flurries, so we went to see Buffalo City Hall (behemoth Art Deco – WOW.) I was hoping to get up to the renovated observation deck, but unfortunately it was closed due to the weather. Afterwards, we visited the Albright-Knox Gallery for Free Friday. The next day we drove to Rochester and walked around High Falls. We spent a couple of hours at Java’s before I subjected Darrin to his first trash plate. More photos here.

Java’s in Rochester near Eastman gets me. Not the best coffee, but it’s cheap and served with attitude. Cool atmosphere and I love hanging out there. My tao.

I celebrated the return of nice weather by walking to High Park. Through Parkdale on the way there, and then back along the lake. Parkdale has really got some character. I need to go back there soon and take more photos, it’s fantastically gritty.

I’m pleased to see the geese return.

Weather was nice so I walked all over town, talking to RZA.

We made some amazing ratatouille and a huge mess in the kitchen. Next day we drank some wine and then went to the Memorial Art Gallery. Rembrandt exhibit blew our minds. Piles of snow everywhere. Ate a trash plate.

Today I went to see the etching exhibit at the AGO. I enjoyed the Rembrandt prints, but I don’t care for Freud. Fun people watching, it was opening weekend.
